Being vegetarian I can't imagine living without my soy sauce. I use it for everything that needs a broth or gravy. When I came across this "no soy" soy sauce (sorry i dont rmbr where I got it) I thought I would post it here for ppl with soy allergies. I have not tried it so let us know how you like it. ~nancy

Great idea, I'll try it, but I have a comment. Not that I'm vegetarian but I do try to incorporate as many veggie dishes as I can, what about the 'BEEF' bouillon?
I would use Ed & Son's No Beef Bouillon. We dont have any allergies in my family so we use a lot of Ed & Son's no meat substitutes.
Jack suggested using mushroom based broth which would great as well for those with corn allergies and can't use no meat substitute bouillons.
Great looking recipe. One problem I'm having, is finding beef bouillon (real or substitute) without soy in it.
Any thoughts?
Hi Raven,
I would use Not-Beef from Edward & Sons. Ingredients: sea salt, organic expeller-pressed palm oil, yeast extract, organice evap cane juice, maltodextrin (corn), chicory extract, onion, organic celery, mushroom powder, organic garlic, organic mace spice.
Hope that helps :)
Here's a link to the Not-Beef Edward & Sons site if you can't find it locally. (just a reminder that this does contain CORN! )

If you eat meat you might even try making your own broth with beef.
Thank you for letting me know.
When you say Beef boullion in the recipe what do you mean? The Edward and Sons comes in a box with cubes in it so I don't understand how to use the amount you said there. Does a person add water to the cube and then use 4 tbsp of the liquid it creates?
Yes, you dissolve cube in hot water. It doesn't say exact amounts on the box of Ed&Sons Not-Beef but generally I use 2 cups water for 1 cube. So if you only need 4TBS that's only about 1/4 of a cup of broth. I would personally make 1/2 cup water with a 1/4 cube so I can have extra to adjust the taste...at least my first time making it.
Let us know how it turns out :)
